Race: Half-Orc (Rook), Halfling (Tallen)
Age: 34 (Rook), 41 (Tallen)
Occupation: Freelance monster hunters and containment specialists
Usual Haunt: Camped in the weedy field near the eastern watchtower or drinking at opposite ends of the inn
Appearance:
Rook: Towering and muscular, Rook wears armor cobbled from multiple creature hides — wyvern scale, bugbear leather, and blight-chitin. His tusks are carved with tally marks.
Tallen: Wiry and leathery, Tallen wears a bandolier of potion vials and an overstuffed satchel. One eye is milky from a magical mishap, and he walks with a limp.
Personality:
Rook: Blunt, stoic, loyal — a fighter of few words but big presence.
Tallen: Sharp-tongued, anxious, brilliant. Never stops moving or muttering.
Together, they bicker constantly but function like clockwork in a fight. They’ve saved each other’s lives dozens of times and have matching tattoos of a fang inside a flame.
Background: Rook was once a slave-gladiator, freed by Tallen during a prison raid gone sideways. Since then, the pair has been traveling the southern coast, hunting monsters for pay — and sometimes for reasons they won’t admit. Their current contract involves investigating unnatural creature behavior near blighted waterways.
Reputation in Mosstone: Feared and admired in equal measure. Children follow them around; elders pray they’ll move on quickly.
Hook: They’ve been tracking a blight-mutated beast that escaped containment. It may already be nesting somewhere beneath the town.
