The Mistvale Thicket - Wilderness Region
A dense, tangled forest that sprawls across the land surrounding the Argent Arch. The Mistvale Thicket is named for the perpetual mist that clings to its trees, rolling off the river and lingering among the moss-covered trunks and underbrush. Known for its hidden paths and occasional ruins, the region is home to a variety of creatures, both mundane and magical. Travelers often speak of strange sounds in the mist and the eerie feeling of being watched. Despite its dangers, it remains a vital route for those wishing to avoid the main roads during wartime.
A grand stone bridge spanning a wide, rocky gorge with a shimmering river below. Built centuries ago by an alliance of Elven stonemasons and Dwarven engineers, the Argent Arch is named for the silvery sheen that reflects off its surface at dawn and dusk. Despite its age, the bridge remains sturdy, though signs of wear from the ongoing conflict and time are evident. Ancient carvings of Elven runes and Dwarven symbols decorate its sides, hinting at its original purpose as a trade route and symbol of unity between the two races. Tucked deep within the rugged cliffs of the Mistvale Thicket, Gloomfang Hollow is a sprawling network of caves lit faintly by phosphorescent fungi and the flickering of crude torches. The enclave earned its name from the jagged stalactites hanging like fangs from the cavern ceilings, casting ominous shadows that give the space an eerie, oppressive atmosphere. Home to a cunning and resourceful goblin tribe, the hollow is a labyrinth of hidden tunnels, traps, and makeshift fortifications. The goblins of Gloomfang Hollow are notorious for ambushing travelers and scavenging from nearby settlements, all while zealously guarding the secrets of their subterranean domain. They are known as the Shatterfangs.
