Thornshade Clan

The Thornshade Clan is divided into smaller family groups, or Grovekin, each responsible for protecting specific regions of The Wealdath. While the Grovekin act autonomously in their territories, they remain united under the leadership of the Elder Council of Thorns, which convenes in the heart of the forest at the Hollowspire, a colossal tree said to house an ancient and slumbering forest spirit.

The Thornshade elves are deeply spiritual, practicing rites that honor the forest’s cycles and its elemental forces. They view their connection to the land as sacred, and their magic often manifests in ways that reflect the vitality of The Wealdath—vines that entangle enemies, arrows that bloom with poisonous thorns, and enchantments that bend the forest itself to their will.

The Thornshade Clan’s identity is steeped in symbolism, with their banners and tattoos often depicting twisting vines, sharp thorns, and the silhouettes of mighty trees. They are not merely warriors but stewards, poets, and healers, weaving their lives into the rhythm of the forest. Their motto, “Bound by roots, guarded by thorns,” reflects their unity and their role as the forest's shield against any who threaten its sanctity.
