Mike pastors the Punto Luce (Point of Light) Church in Milan, Italy and Nuova Vida Church in nearby Bergamo.  Schaafsmas also serve with Justice & Mercy International, a ministry working to mobilize churches and chaplains into sports ministry to meet people where they are.  Mike and Nina are joined in ministry by their son Max and his wife Jenna and are also blessed to minister with Nina's parents who live nearby.

Schaafsmas' work through their churches include a wide variety of ministries and outreach to their communities through sports programs, radio programming, distribution of literature for metro commuters, day camps for kids, women's events, youth outreach and discipleship, outreach in the public schools, public preaching and park evangelism, and even foreign missions work in Ethiopia.  God is blessing their efforts and growing His church!
