Our mission is to join SEND in mobilizing God’s people and engaging the unreached in order to establish reproducing churches.
Our vision is to cultivate a mature, self-sustaining indiginous Church that fully embodies its mission, transforming local communities and reaching the unreached peoples throughout the region we serve.
How we are doing this:
We have begun pioneering a new field for SEND International. For the last two years we have been focused on language and culture acquisition in order to effectively communicate the Gospel and make disciples among the people of this country. During this time, three ministry emphases have started to come into focus as we have ministered. These areas are what we see the Lord leading us into when we go back.
First, is a holistic approach to reach the unreached.
In the country where we serve there are 116 recognized people groups, of these 69 are still considered unreached. Remote areas not only suffer from gospel poverty but also physical poverty, food insecurity, and religious pushback. Taking a holistic approach to meeting people's needs, we believe that in partnering with the local church we can build bridges for the Gospel bringing physical and spiritual shalom.
Second, is a heart to reach the college and university students in the capital city where we live.
There are 700,000 plus college and university students attending the 50 colleges and universities in the capital city where we live. Recognizing that today's youth are tomorrow's leaders, our heart is to provide positive peer groups such as those in English clubs to bring generational change through the power of the Gospel!
Last, our focus is to bring hope to the blind.
With around 3 million blind and visually impaired people in this country, the need is great for bringing assistance to families with blind or visually impaired children. Our vision is to bring hope to children and their families by providing better access to assessments and resources to help children thrive!
Prayer Requests:
1. That God will provide the rest of our funding soon for our upcoming term.
2. That God will continue to provide us safety as we travel.
3. That our family will acclimate well back to living back over in Asia.
4. That Caleb and Candice will be given a mind to acquire the language.
5. That God will direct our steps as we look to reach the unreached holistically, show His heart to college students in the capital city, and provide hope for families and children who are blind and visually impaired.
6. For logistics when we get back, mainly finding a good/affordable apartment and purchasing a vehicle.
