KYKD broadcasts to the community of Bethel, Alaska and the immediately surrounding Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta villages. KYKD is also the primary station for a group of translator stations serving villages around the broader region. Their reach has expanded over the years to more villages and areas. Thus, KYKD can now be heard over a total of seven different transmitters. The programming and format of the station is oriented to the major cultures of Western Alaska, that of the Yup'ik and the Inupiat peoples, who have inhabited the region for thousands of years. It is the desire of the ministry that KYKD would be effective in bringing the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people within this vast listening area and thereby bring glory to God and advance His kingdom.
