Yvan and Maria Jose Salazar both grew up in small rural towns in Baja California, Mexico. They have a beautiful daughter, Olivia. Yvan worked in Mexico as a registered nurse in a city hospital for more than 4 years before moving to Los Angeles with the purpose of preparing for the ministry. Maria Jose studied industrial engineering but decided to leave her profession to take care of their daughter (with a thankful and joyful heart). Salazars attended the local church in the city of Mexicali where the Lord in His mercy allowed them to serve first in music ministry, then with the youth group. Yvan continued with Sunday teaching and finally preaching two Sundays a month. He combined his professional work with the ecclesiastical ministry and theological studies in Biblical Ministry through TMAI (The Master’s Academy International).
God used these theological studies to awaken a
great desire to continue knowing more about our great God. This master's degree laid the foundation to know the essential doctrines and to obtain the tools for a correct biblical interpretation. In July of 2022, the family moved to the city of Los Angeles, California for Yvan to continue studying the Master of Divinity degree at The Master’s Seminary, with the purpose of training for the work of the ministry (Eph. 4:12). Yvan also works at the Seminary in one of its programs, called the Institute of Expositors (IDEX) which offers online theology courses to more than 20,000 Spanish speaking people around the world. The Salazars are active members of Iglesia Bíblica Berea (Berea Bible Church), which is pastored by two of the seminary
professors.
The Salazars covet your prayers for Yvan as he continues his studies, and for their family as they grow and prepare to serve the Lord in rural Mexico when they return home.
