Advocates for Change Today (ACT)

Description

An advocacy program for youth ages 12-18 years old residing in the Mid-City and San Diego area.  Youth involved in this program take part in advocacy, teamwork, and public health and safety efforts to reduce the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs among youth.  This group meets once a week (Wednesdays at 4:30-6pm) at the SAY San Diego office located at 4275 El Cajon Blvd., Unit 101, San Diego, CA 92105.  Follow them on Instagram @advcoates4changetoday and if you’re interested, please reach out to Marlen Diaz at marlen.diaz@saysandiego.org.  

Services

Provide a space for youth to discuss advocacy and public health and safety efforts to reduce the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs among youth.  Youth also participate in community events and have fun fellowship opportunities.  Students may obtain community service hours and letters can be provided upon request.  

Eligibility

Youth ages 12-18 years old interested in advocacy and like minded fellowship.

Service Areas:

Mid-City and San Diego County.  Due to the location the meetings, many of the student participants are from Hoover High School (walking distance).
