As the title suggests, this is a page dedicated to debunking anything fake.

Isn't Roro's irl name Ako/Sakiro/Suzuno/Ruru Konokowa??

No. It's not. We currently have no leads for a name at all, and these names are all mistranslations/simple misinformation.

Ako is a mistranslation of A子(A-ko), which also means Child A. Google seemed to stick the two together and create a name out of nowhere.

Sakiro is also a mistranslation. The original said さっきろろ(Sakki Roro), which translates to "Recently, Roro", or "Just now, Roro".
Suzuno is the name that was shown from some picture that someone dug up on twitter, from an account that was suspected to be one of Roro's classmates. A person called Suzuno kind of resembled Roro at first glance, which is why this misconception even happened. The account was later found to have no connection at all to Roro, therefore this name also isn't accurate.

Ruru Konokowa is also a mistranslation. Although I haven't seen the original source of this name, it is VERY likely that this is not true. Konokowa refers to "この子は”, which means "this girl is". I believe a person was talking about Roro or Ruru, said "hey, this girl is Ruru" somewhere in the conversation, which caused this mistranslation.

Is the dark/deep web a good place to look for information on Roro?

As far as we know, there is no archive related to Roro on the deep web. Multiple have attempted to look for one there but none have been found, so please do not suggest this as a possible area of investigation. We are not willing to motivate investigators to compromise their online safety and privacy for the sake of trivial information, which is also confirmed to not be there in the first place.

Instead, we suggest looking through logs on 2chan, which has been our primary source of new information

Yeah, but the song lyrics said...

The song, Ruru's suicide show on a live stream, and Roro are 2 completely separate things. The only resemblance between the two are the fact that Roro and Ruru kinda sound similar. That's it.

The song is based upon multiple suicides, and isn't a tribute to Roro.

However, just because a song isn't only based on one specific person, doesn't meant that you can just use it wherever you want. Be respectful, don't glorify suicide, and know when it's appropriate to use the music.

Since we're on the topic of song lyrics, I might as well debunk some myths that originated from the song.

Did Roro tape her phone to her eye?

No. She did not. I mean, think about it for a moment, think about it with common sense.

Why would anyone want to tape their phone to their eye?

Is it convenient in any way? Is there some benefit in doing so?

Not only would it be really uncomfortable, and painful if she ever had to take it off, it would completely cover up one eye, which would make it hard to see.

The phone was a stylistic choice, maybe a metaphor to how our current generation has their eyes glued to their phones, but it's definitely not what happened in the suicide stream.

It's so unfortunate the Japanese FBI erased everything...

The Japanese FBI isn't a thing, It's just a metaphorical term used in the lyrics.

Actually, I'm going to quote a part of post from Tawman on reddit, he explains this really well. Full post here.

"In overall viewpoint, this so called ' Japanese FBI' is just a pure metaphorical representation of the authorities behind the information control of suicide cases. Back in 2013 there were numerous suicide cases in the Shiga prefecture, notable ones that were before this Omihachiman case (rorochans) , were the cases in Chuo ward and Otsu-shi bullying suicide case. Via sheer experience of learning that these previous two cases had lead to many more suicide cases, there was a paranoia that too much spread of suicide cases would lead to more suicide spree/circles. It was a common case to control spread of misunderstanding or the cases in general simply to prevent this triggering of sprees and cricles. This along with the overall Minor information protection law + the legal rights of her parents to censor it,had lead to most of the information including some too much revealing local news (examples are Asagei) and various ameblo blogs were removed."

Yeah, but the song lyrics said-

No. The song was based on several suicides, not just Roro’s. Don’t take the song lyrics to be evidence about Roro. Just don’t.

When's Roro's birthday?

The Japanese school year starts in April, and junior high students in the 3rd year are 14-15. When Roro passed away in November 24th, she was 14, and in 3rd grade of junior high. This means that her birthday must be between November 24th, and March 31st.

A common misconception is her birthday being January 1st, since that's what's written on her mairi.me page. However, that is the default date that is given to someone whose birthday is unknown, therefore this date isn't very reliable.

We believe that January 4th is the most likely birthday, since there are 2chan logs on people saying so. The two users who said this seemed to be viewers of Roro's streams, and they both agreed upon the same date

Roro's Mother was soo mean, she didn't even visit Roro in the hospital ;-;

There's literally no evidence to suggest that. We don't know what her Mother was doing when Roro was taken to the hospital. I'd say it's unlikely that her Mother knew straight away that her daughter had jumped since, from the police's perspective, they wouldn't have known where Roro lived so they probably had to ask around before they got to the right family.

WTF Roro's Mother was abusing her????

No. There's no evidence of abuse, the closest thing we've got are some "hysterical screams" that were said to be heard in her streams from time to time, and that she was a little strict, especially when it came to Roro's grades.

There's reports of her Mother talking in a friendly way with Roro, and making packed lunches for her every time Roro had cram school(which was in the evening), so she wouldn't be hungry. I haven't seen a single time where Roro complained about her Mother doing anything abusive to her, so I doubt that any abuse even happened, please stop hating on her Mother when there isn't even evidence on abuse.

What info is there on her classmates?

The most likely evidence we have is the conversation between Horidaikon and Gifir. PLEASE do NOT harass random twitter accounts bombarding them with questions about Roro, there's been several users who have had DMs sent over and over from people from the Roro Info discord server, and possible other places, and it's simply gone to the point where it's harassment. A lot of the time, these people don't know Roro at all, and the "evidence" you found was simply a mistranslation due to google.

Who is Mirrorman? Who is Chii?

They were a person who harassed and bullied Roro on her streams along with another user called Chii. Not much is known about them apart from that.

There was a twitter account speculated to be related to Mirrorman but it's been confirmed to be NOT TRUE, so PLEASE do not harass this twitter user any more, I genuinely feel bad for that guy, please stop.

Did Roro have a Father?

Yes, and it is said his voice was heard sometimes on Roro's streams, trying to calm the Mother down.

Was Roro bullied?

As it has been said in multiple news articles, no. She wasn't bullied. In fact, she had a friend she was close with, who was said to have looked really sad and was crying after hearing about her death. She didn't die because she was bullied.

Did Roro actually do erotic streams?

As far as we know right no, we don't have any evidence suggesting that she did. The only things we have are random 2chan posts, but these could easily be lies from haters to make her look bad, so don't take them too seriously.

What social medias does Roro have?

Twitter, Niconico, UStream, TwitCast, and FC2. There is currently no viewable version of her TwitCast page, and her UStream is unknown.

Why is this investigation still going on? What is there even left to find?

Like I said above, there's no working viewable version of her Twitcast, and her UStream is completely lost. There's also a lot of lost footage that hasn't been found yet.

Personally, I'm here to investigate to prevent misinformation from spreading in English communities. There's been false claims of her parents being abusive, her classmates bullying her, her taping her phone to her eye etc, which not only is untrue, some of these claims damage the reputations of people that are still alive today. By spreading misinformation you're essentially making these people look bad, whether you intended to or not, and her family/her classmates certainly don't deserve that.

What's the difference between Ruru and Roro?

Ruru is a fictional character that was made for the song "Ruruchan no jisatsu haishin", aka "Ruruchan's suicide show on a live stream". The only resemblance between her and Roro is the similar name and.. well that's about it. The song is often said to be a tribute to Roro, but I don't think it is. I believe the song was based upon multiple suicides, and isn't a tribute for just Roro. And like I've said above. THE SONG AND RORO ARE NOT RELATED PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SONG AS EVIDENCE.
