Eli Valentine (8 years-old) submitted his photo, "Fly By", of a Hooded Oriole (seen above) in the

Nature Photo Contest: “Celebrating San Diego's Biodiversity". He won third place!

His photo is also being used for a trailhead kiosk. Congratulations, Eli!

Award-winning woodworking artist Tim Richards transformed a dead Torrey pine into a piece of public art, "Sunset Seat", that also serves as a wooden bench where people can sit and look at the scenic surroundings. Attached is a carved red-tailed hawk — the official bird of Torrey Pines Reserve.

"My favorite flowers that remind me of the earliest spring flowers in Germany.

In these frightening days we are blessed with our garden full of flowers

attracting bees and butterflies and sometimes even hummingbirds."

These blue flowers and 'mean looking' easter bunny (look closely at the eyes) is actually from Christiane's international neighborhood in Germany.

Can you detect the tiny bee on the lilly?

These very modest flowers look like Leberbluemchen/ liverworts. Do you agree?

Who/what has been helpful during your quarantine?

For Christiane, its her cat, Mio, and her husband, Adrian. When describing Mio's look at her, she added"He knows he's not suppose to be sitting on laptop!"
