See below for today's weather report from the National Weather Service.
Thanks for the emails from people who already know they won't be coming due to the driving on the highways at this time.
Depending on the weather in the morning, I'll let you know if I think we need to reschedule it.
I'm hoping it will still work but safety is a priority!

Thursday - A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

I keep checking the weather report for this Thursday. So far, it looks like the rain will begin after 12:30 (20% chance of rain) and peak around 4:00 PM (55% chance of rain).
I'm still hoping we will be able to meet for docent-led tours at the Carlsbad Historical Society at 10:00 AM and the Museum of Making Music at 11:30. Needless to say, I'm hoping the rain will be in the afternoon AFTER our tours!
Mike McMahon says he'll meet us at the Museum of Making Music no matter what the weather conditions are...but then he lives in Carlsbad!
I'll keep watching the weather reports!!

Here's some ideas for enjoying the upcoming week-end, Valentine's Day, and next Thursday...here in San Diego.
I'll be sending more info (that I'll get from Mike) on where to meet and go for a walk at the Stone Wall in Carlsbad next Thursday at 10:00 AM.
Also, our docent led tour of the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad is from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM. The cost for a docent led tour for seniors is $8.00.
While you are up that way, we may also enjoy shopping at the Carlsbad Premium Outlet Mall.
Be sure and pick up (at your local libraries) the listing of museums that are 70% off during February.

This email includes a description of our upcoming topics and guest presentations. I will review the draft of my RSD calendar to get your feedback. Please note that the calendar is subject to change as I continue to assess your interest in these topics and presentations!
This Week - Thursday (1.22)
-Registration, Course Overview, & Calendar (Draft 1.21.26)
I will start my Thursday and Tuesday classes by going over the course, the class website, and the current draft of the calendar for tours and topics. Prior to posting the calendar on the website, I will use these first two classes to get your interest in topics and tours I have planned.
-Some of you will want to know more details of what is ahead; others only want to know the date, time, topic, & link to Zoom. I’ll add details based on your interests. I encourage you to sign up for both my Tuesday and Thursday RSD classes.
-I’ll share the Calendar and RSD Website with an overview of our topics and tours for this semester, answer questions about SDCE registration and course enrollment, and review photos from our recent tours.
-Zoom: The above Zoom link is the same Zoom link that I have previously used for each of my classes. I encourage you to save it on your desktop or bookmark it for easy access. I will use the last hour of the class to answer additional questions.
