Kaldun was founded from the city states of the Southern Wastelands on the 21st of Mollek in the year 587 during the First Age of Modern History. Formally known as the City of the Rock or Pincum Petrus the ancient city was built upon a great mesa carved out of the rock. Pagan beliefs of the time accredited its birth creation to the Dreams of Ulu a deity who defied the rise of the God-King Gata of the north. We now know it was formed by the Hand of the Light as a reward to the faithful, eroded from the great sea that once consumed the Badlands of Saelsvyr.
In the year 655 the Nation was brought to enlightenment by the prophet Hice the Novus. The Church of Light was declared the official religion of the Empire by emperor Piuso Niusila Salavo under the prophets guidance. From the prophets lips was uttered a prophecy for a new light of the Church. A systematic purging of the heathens of the Badlands began as did the rise of the good and right rule of the Kaldonian Law. Yet the sins of the fathers remained as did the pagan’s magic that would soon destroy the earth.
The war of the Demons soon began in 681, as the Ulmaad of the Catfolk, the Dwarves in their Citadels, and the Westmen of the North were punished for their Greed. Demons rose from the earth and took the lives of the greedy. From the mount of Ganai appeared a light which brought enlightenment to the North and by the Hand of Light the inferni were removed from the land. It was considered to have been the folly of a Southern Warlord but the historical narrative of the time period is nebulous. 200 years after the fall of the Demon Lords in 802 the world began to be united under the common faith of the Holy Church of Light, and the brethren nations united against the pagan’s of Arcan in an extended confrontation with the nation known as the “War of the Light”
In the year 1130 the ingenuity of Kaldonian Mages created a system of trade that dismantled the sea-trade monopolies of the north when a method for Interplanar trade routes led to over-planar travel and transport of goods. This began a trend of arcane research and funding from the emperor that would contribute to the downfall of the Southern Badlands. From 1149 to 1178 the official decree of Kaldonian dominance reigned and the declaration of war upon those once considered allies began. After many years of conflict the eventual creation of the Kaldun-Kadveir-Senges Deference Treaty united Kadvier-Senges with the Holy Empire and all its citizens became sovereigns of the Emperor. In 1185 the the Cospian Vendition would also bring the Northern reaches of Cospian into the empire in accordance with the will of the people.
1221 began the War of the Wizards, one of the darkest times in the Kaldonian history and the true punishment by the Hand of Light for the plague of Arcane use by her enlightened. The War of the Wizards saw the fall of the Mage of Princum and a destruction of thousands of miles of land. The war took place between the nations of Arcan, Wessier, Kessim and Cospian and left the land scared and ravaged as arcane power never meant to be wielded by mortals was brought into the material plane. The subsequent years of crop failure and death of Kaldonian citizens led the Church of Holy Light and the Emperor to declare the use of Magic unlawful and those who were found in violation were sentenced to death by pyre in 1225. The second purge of the pagan beliefs of Kaldun began as the magic texts of the Kaldonian colleges were burned in a day commemorated each year known as the Day of Burning Books. This national holiday is celebrated each year by burning the books both Arcane and not on the 1st of Jesei.

The Church of Light was made the sole belief of the Kaldonian people in 655 and has since spread to much of Saelsvyr. The belief centers around the presence of an omnipresent and all knowing diety of light who created the world with their (her) hand. The tenants of the church focus on the path to enlightenment through honorable and holy living. The power of the light is seen as an equally purifying and purging one, only those who have been cleaned by the Hand of Light will enter the gates of Heaven, and those who turn away to the Shadows will be forced to dwell there.
“A towering and expansive city, this metropolis spans the top of a Mesa stretching out over the great rock’s surface. Towards the center of the city the buildings tower upwards giving residence to hundreds of residents. On the narrow streets of the city, the tracks of the carriageway spider web throughout the city. The Carriageway, built to guide the steel-wheeled carriages through the streets efficiently is the major form of transportation within the city and runs predominantly on gravity and horse teams to move the great carriage trains throughout the city. Built by dwarves in the second age the mechanical beasts can carry 25 individuals per cart, creating the most efficient transportation system in the known world.” - Arenin Belegil (1186, 3rd Age)

The city of Palicad and the palace itself was built by Sata Portiusid in 689 and has since housed every emperor of the state. The city was specially designed as a retreat for the emperor away from the business of Kathladur and since centered around the production of jewelry and politicians alike.
The city itself is lavishly designed, divided in large concentric rings with the palace taking the center. The housing of the city is made up of mostly Kaldonian nobles and aristocracy.

Originally an independent city-state from the other empires of the south, the city was purchased by the Empire of Kaldun in 735 allowing Kaldun to secure the trade routes and move troops unrestricted in the region. The city, which was originally founded in the year 2135 GC by halfling immigrants from the north set up a camp that would progressively grow as other nearby cities. The camp would become the largest population of halflings on the continent. The city has since grown more diverse and

Located on the Island of Lus’ Hianoh (lucky Luciano)
The town of Seagull Bay is a town full of mercenaries criminal and rejects all throw into the same place. It acts as the main port city for the island of Lus’ Hianoh. They trade in “spices”, sugar, and tropical fruits. The town is notorious the crime syndicate The Commission, which rules the town en lieu of Kaldonian administrative oversight. The Commission runs jobs through the island of Lus’ Hianoh keeping its people “safe” and forcing neighboring businesses to pay for “protection”. The Commission is run out of a dive bar called the “Dapper Don” in the center of Seagull bay which is on the south side of the island. The other major group on the island is the Vese family, a tribal orc family settled on the north of the island. The lack of real authority on the island an for the city of Seagull Bay is likely a deliberate one by the Kaldonian government although why this is the case is not entirely known.
The island itself is like 70% orc/half orc population and 10% goblin with the other 20% being out casts from the mainland mainly criminals and mercenaries from all different walks of life
