Hezekiah Lake was always fascinated by the tales told of the Dwarves who live below the earth, never venturing forth into Areluma's light. As a young adventurer, he crawled down into the depths of the Great Below, and became one of the most respected surface-landers among the Duergar peoples. He used his explorations as the fuel for several books published to educate those who lived upon the Surface about the residents beneath their feet. He was the first author to attempt an ethnography of the Darkfolk and survive to publish his findings!
