IFSU-OVPAA |12-16-25| In a continued push toward data‑driven academic management, the Ifugao State University (IFSU) is set to roll out major enhancements to its Academic Information Management System (AIMS). Education Program Specialist Andres M. Cuyasan and programmer Resnef B. Immatong met today to finalize development plans and set the target completion of the upgraded modules by the second week of January 2026.
The initiative is anchored on the vision of Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jennifer Madonna G. Dait, particularly in support of OVPAA Strategic Direction Item 2: Academic Data Analytics. The enhancements aim to strengthen the university’s capacity to generate accurate, timely, and analytics‑ready academic data.
A major focus of the meeting was the improvement of the Faculty Workload Analytics Module, which will streamline the generation of comprehensive workload summaries for all faculty members across campuses. Under the enhanced system, the OVPAA will countercheck and validate all submitted faculty workload reports against the data encoded in AIMS. Only after this verification process will the reports be endorsed for approval by the Office of the Workloads. This ensures that discrepancies, such as overload or underload, are accurately identified among both permanent and contract‑of‑service faculty.
Guided by the vision of Dr. Dait, the enhancement is seen as a vital step toward ensuring fairness, transparency, and alignment with academic policies. By grounding workload decisions in verified system data, the university reinforces its commitment to evidence‑based academic governance and more accountable academic management.
Another major component discussed was the development of a new module that will cluster faculty members across campuses based on their specialization. This clustering will serve as the foundation for a university‑wide initiative to develop unified Instructional Materials (IMs) per specialization.
Once implemented, the module will automatically group faculty teaching similar subjects/courses, enabling them to collaborate in producing standardized instructional materials. This approach is expected to enhance academic coherence, improve instructional quality, and support the university’s broader academic targets.
Both Cuyasan and Immatong expressed confidence in meeting the January 2026 completion timeline. The OVPAA reaffirmed that these digital innovations reflect IFSU’s commitment to modernizing academic processes, strengthening data analytics, and fostering collaboration among faculty across all campuses.
