Third Day of AUN‑QA Workshop
IFSU-OVPAA |12-04-25| Carrying forward the momentum of the previous sessions, the curriculum reframing workshop under the ASEAN University Network–Quality Assurance (AUN‑QA) framework advanced into its third day with faculty participants finalizing outputs on alignment and mapping exercises before subjecting them to panel critique. The day’s Management of Learning (MoL) facilitation was assigned to the College of Health Sciences (CHS), while the overall supervision of the activity was under the direction of Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jennifer Madonna Garingan‑Dait, ensuring institutional oversight and academic rigor.
Faculty clusters consolidated their work on Step 3: Aligning Program Outcomes (POs) to Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) and Institutional Outcomes (IOs), and Step 4: Mapping Courses to Course Outcomes (COs) and POs. These outputs were presented before resource persons and AUN‑QA alumni, who provided incisive feedback and technical critiques on alignment strategies, redundancies, and coherence. The exercise underscored the importance of constructive alignment and evidence‑based validation in curriculum design.
Following the presentations, Dr. Jeng Jeng M. Bolintao, OIC ‑ CAE Dean, delivered a technical lecture on internal curriculum audit using AUN‑QA criteria. Her discussion dissected programme specifications and structures, emphasized benchmarking with ASEAN higher education institutions, and highlighted the identification of misalignments, overlaps, and redundancies. Drawing from the Outcomes‑Based Education (OBE) framework, she stressed systematic evidence collection, stakeholder engagement, and continuous quality improvement as critical pillars of assurance.
In the afternoon, the workshop continued with gap analysis and evidence consolidation per program, facilitated by the Quality Assurance Team and AUN‑QA alumni. Faculty participants presented revised curriculum maps, which were subjected to another round of critique and recommendations from the speaker panel. The review integrated PDCA “Check” results into the curriculum narrative, reinforcing the quality assurance cycle and embedding continuous improvement into program design.
Throughout the day, participants were observed to be highly engaged, with outputs closely monitored by the Training Management Team. The sessions advanced the workshop’s objectives of embedding internal audit practices, consolidating evidence, and strengthening curriculum quality through structured analysis and peer review, further positioning the university’s programs for accreditation readiness and regional benchmarking.
