Updating Discourse Transcriptions

The discourse transcription of a grammatical form in the dictionary is what shows up in the discourse view of a text. For logosyllabic writing systems, this is sometimes called a normalization. There will come a time when you may wish to update the discourse transcription of all the words that are linked to a given grammatical form in the dictionary.

For users that have appropriate levels of edit-access to Texts and the Dictionary, use the following process:

Find the lemma, then go to the Forms tab.

In this example, I wish to change the discourse transcription for this proper noun. I wish to replace the upper case A with a lower case a.

FIRST STEP: click on the yellow label tag on the right side of the form in question.

SECOND STEP: Change the value in the discourse transcription field.

THIRD STEP: Click the wrench button to the left of the discourse transcription field.
