This is the second mosaic I've ever done. It is a 1/6ths part (1.81 x 1.3 deg) of what the Coalsack really is. The upper right of this image duplicates WikiPedia's. The WikiPedia picture shows what it calls a portion of the Coalsack here.
The bright star in the upper right is Alpha Crux.
Problems...
The largest FOV for a southern hemisphere Slooh scope is Chile Two's 43x43 arcminutes. The Coalsack is listed at 6x4 degrees and it looks like I'll need a 9x6 matrix for it allowing for some overlap. At 5 images a night with good weather it will take eleven nights and good weather never cooperates. I'd like to make sure I get the scope/camera pointed at the right place so I don't have to multiply the time this is going to take. Both the AL and OZSKY say the Coalsack is at 12:31:19.0 -63:44:36. I see some conflicting information in other places.
SkySafari shows 12:49:59.71 -62:38:53.3, Stellarium shows 12:50:02.15 -62:29:52.5, and the great astronomy reference WikiPedia says 12:52:19 −62:25:28. The three of these are 2 minutes different in RA and 13 minutes different in DEC. That means they agree fairly well with each other. However, they are all much further away from the AL/OZSKY's coordinates... 19 minutes in RA and over a degree for all of them in DEC. That's more than one field of view in DEC and might require 14 additional images...at least three more nights.
Take this link to see the issues I had putting this together, the data and images for all 36 exposures used to assemble this mosaic. It details why I think the above coordinates for the Coalsack are more than a degree away from what should be the real center. The mistake in coordinates lead to an additional week's worth to make a second of the correct area. Take the link to see the data, images, and full-sized mosaic of what I believe is the correct center of the Coalsack. There is also an image made by overlapping both mosaics.

Observations: I have the correct field with HIP 64212 on the left and HIP 64530 just out of view around 5 o'clock. There is a small double at about 4 o'clock. It could be darker, but this spiral galaxy is visible and I'm fighting the moon in about 1 1/2 hours. I need to get going. NGC 5005 is about twice as long as wide. The core is small and brighter than the rest of the spiral. It dims out pretty quickly towards the edges.
