Note on observing color:
I am red/green colorblind and while I can see color, it is very difficult to label what colors are observed. Unless the color really "knocks me over" you won't see any mention of it.

Double Star Measurements and Resources:
No attempt was made to accurately measure the separations and position angles of the double stars seen below. I did estimate the location of the secondary in terms of clock face direction about the primary as seen in the Alt/Az view of my binoculars. I later estimated the position angle and entered the result in the table below. In some cases, the result is 180 degrees off showing that I reversed the primary and secondary. I did the estimation by overlaying a clear plastic protractor on top of SkySafari running on my Nexus 7 tablet. I aligned the protractor with SkySafari's reported N at the date and time of the observation. The PA estimation comes only from my clock face angle and not the star positions displayed on the SkySafari screen. I've estimated that there is at least a +/- 10 degree error in the method.
See at least 50 of the following: I'm adding to the list
Requirements:
Your Advanced Observing Program observation log must include for each object:
WDS discover code and constellation.
Date and Time of observation (local time or universal time).
Your geographic location (latitude and longitude).
Sky conditions (seeing and transparency).
Size of the binocular used to make the observation (magnification and aperture).
Brief description or rough sketch of the double star and other prominent features seen in its immediate neighborhood. (Sketching does not replace the requirement for plotting.)
Your three plots, executed as described above.

This double was fairly high in the east above the Chesterfield light dome, so I gave it a shot. It is about 2 fovs up from M45. It was a bit sneaky since there was a wider and bright double just past it at about 11 o'clock. This guy has stars of almost equal brightness with the secondary at 7 o'clock. Harder to find the second time... the secondary was at 4:30.

To demonstrate the basics of double star measurements, you’ll create plots using three objects from the observing list. Using the magnitude, separation, and position angle measurements from the WDS database provided, translate what you observe in the night sky onto paper. Plot the relationships of the stars in three objects you select from the list. (See example below.) All the information you need for these layouts is provided in the WDS measurements that accompany each object. Two of the plots must be of objects you’ve personally observed. The third drawing must be of a multiple (three or more stars) from the list, whether or not you have observed it.
Your plots will place the primary star and each component star in its proper position relative to each other and relative to its position in the sky. Label each plot using the appropriate discoverer code, and identify each star using its capital letter identifier. Use dots of varying sizes to show differences in magnitude. Separations (distances) between stars are labeled in seconds of arc (“). Position angles are labeled in degrees with 0° (North) at the top and progressing West in a counterclockwise manner.
