This page has lesson plans from class sessions focused on publishing.
Welcome back! My plan for this unit is to guide you to:
Brainstorm ideas for names for our literary magazine.
Select a piece of original writing from this semester to revise and edit for publication.
Revise your piece to make sure that it is very detailed and has a main message. Use the following strategies to help you include more details in your writing:

This rhetorical analysis assignment includes two parts: annotating your creative writing and writing a rhetorical analysis essay.
This creative writing and annotation assignment includes two parts: your creative writing piece and your commentary/notes. In your creative writing piece, you will need to use at least 5 literary elements, techniques and/or devices in your writing. Then in your commentary, using correct terminology, identify each literary element, technique and/or device you used in your writing. In your commentary for each element, technique or device, be sure to include:
text evidence - highlight or quote the appropriate segment of text
the literary term for the element, technique or device used, and
a brief (1-2 sentences) explanation of why you chose to use this device or technique in this part of the text and the impact it has on the meaning and/or interpretation of the text (rhetorical function).
Work with a partner to proofread and edit your writing. Use the editing checklist to help you keep track of the corrections you have completed.
