Le Tignet under Snow

Le Tignet, my village, hasn't has this much snow (15cm) in the last 30 years. Here's our street.

Our neighbor's pool - fancy a dip?

A kaki tree (Japanese persimmon) in my neighbor's garden.

The trees in this area aren't designed to take the weight of heavy snow, especially pine trees such as this Alep pine which dropped three thick branches onto my fence. Notice also the snow-covered palm tree in my neighbor's garden opposite - not an everyday site.

A neighbor's rooftop.

This is what happened when a snow-laden branch sagged down onto the high voltage cables opposite our house. An hour later there was an intense electric arc like a firework display and the whole neighborhood was plunged into darkness for the evening.
