In April 2006 we explored some more of the French south coast.
In March 2006 we were tired of Brussels rain and snow and did what thousands of Belgians do at this time of the year - fly off in search of some Senegalese sunshine.
In August 2005 we spent a week touring the Italian Lakes plus Verona, Vicenza, Padova and Parma. A short break, but we enjoyed it very much.
In August 2005 we moved to Brussels, Belgium, to work in European School 3. In July 2005 we made a reconnaissance visit - I was surprised how much I had forgotten in the 17 years I had been away. During that week-long stay we were able to find a villa that we liked, and signed a nine year lease. We lived in Brussels from 2005 to 2014.
Brother Peter visited in April 2005 with our mum and Brother Simon followed in May, accompanied by Shusheel, his wife, who was here to enjoy life as usual.
In February 2005 we went on a tour of Ancient Egypt - it was great. I spent several days preparing a report for you - I've never put so much effort into a report so you'd better read it! It's 10 pages long, with lots of photos.
I've been working out recently - does it show?
Only every 30 years or so does our village get 15cm of snow - I just had to take some photos.
During two brief trips to Paris in January and October 2004 I tried to take some 'artistic' photos. Did I succeed?

We also took our friend Benoit to visit the Gorges du Verdon, one of the most famous tourist destinations in France.
Catherine was sent to the Côte d'Ivoire as an examiner in 2003 and 2004. Later the same year there were violent protests against the French presence and influence in the country and the French school was burnt to the ground.
We returned to Corsica in October 2003 for a few rainy days in the northern regions of Balagne and Cap Corse.
In August 2003 sisters Caroline and Fiona came to stay and then we went to Scotland for a 12 day tour in my father's motor home.
In May 2003 I went gliding for the first time...
In November 2002 our cat Suki earned herself a special reputation in our neighbourhood's feline population by giving birth to six kittens... from four different fathers... at the same time...
Brother Simon's latest folly was a trip to the edge of space in a Mig-25, one of the fastest and most powerful combat aircraft in the world. The Mig-25 holds the world altitude record of 37,650m (123,500 feet) and was active in the Gulf War (it brought down an American F-18). Go to Simon's site and then look in the @last section for the Mig report.
In the photo below, that's him in the front seat.
Meanwhile, back on planet Earth, my grandmother, Ena, (who didn't get to fly in the Mig-25) visited us in April 2002, accompanied by my father and step-mother.
I spent quite some time working on a panoramic photo of our locality, complete with some handsome mountains. See it here.
We've got a new baby! She's very cute, but we wish she would stop sharpening her claws on the sofa...
My mother Jo and brother Simon visited in October 2001. Here are the pix.
Here's a little Flash animation that I made in July 2001 (you won't see it unless JavaScript is enabled on your computer):
Big news: after searching for 9 months, spending hundreds of hours scouring magazines and the internet, not to mention visiting 80 houses, we finally bought a house. Click HERE for more.
Our first trip to Italy together was in April 2001. So much culture everywhere - so different to the Cote d'Azur!
My mother, Jo, joined us for a long weekend in March 2001. Here she is in the quaint village of Le Bar sur Loup, with the Gorges du Loup in the background.

Our trip to Vietnam in February 2000 was one of our best trips since coming to Hong Kong. We went to Hanoi (photo), Danang and Hoi An.

February 99: We went to Cambodia to visit the ancient temples at Angkor but became much more interested by the country's more recent past. By killing two million of its better-educated citizens, has Cambodia dug itself into a hole too deep to climb out of?
