Relkim

Relkim is the name given to a family of lightweight, fast transport devices that fly. They often seat one or two people but quite often more. The Nahha enjoy many different forms of relkim racing, one of the most popular being the 'Unlimited Formula Box' (our phrasing). In this formula, the contestants are allowed to use any technology in their craft provided that it fits within a specific set of dimensions and conforms to safety regulations.

Sometimes relkim are linked together and these 'trains' will move at very high speed between air traffic control points.

People are encouraged to walk rather than use mechanical means of transport, and relkim, although very numerous, are very expensive and are usually hired from specialist Nahhum.

Relkim use a form of tractor engine technology which we do have here on earth. The details are unknown and this is just speculation, but it is believed to rely on very high density high-frequency magnetic fields between layers of doped compressed graphene. This effectively rips apart space at a quantum level and an intense electrical field moves the spontaneously formed charged particles in two directions, but one direction is suppressed. An interference pattern means that the net result is a mass net movement in a single direction. The particles are allowed to annihilate each other at a slightly different location to where they were created. On each cycle the mass and the distance it is moved is quantum sized (small), but this operation is repeated well into the gigahertz frequencies. The power consumption is high but with the availability of power packs, this is not an issue.
