Calendar

Like us the 'Naha' have seven day weeks, probably derived from the moon's cycle of 28 days. Although there is no official weekend as such they do take some days off every week but this can vary considerably from region to region and from 'Nahum' to 'Nahum'. People have days of during the week (mofudyegik) but generally a 'nahum' is working for the full seven days and only closes during the yearly holidays (rudoik). In some places, particularly the colder regions, they can work continuously for three weeks or so and then take a week off.

The year is divided into 12 months of 4 weeks. They have an extra week of holidays and celebrations at the winter solstice, the spring equinox, an extra week and a day (two on leap years) at the summer solstice and another week at the autumn equinox. The link between the week and the lunar cycle is broken.

Although there are no other official global celebration days (rudoik), each region may have several dotted throughout the year.

The year starts on the same day as the spring equinox.
