6. Nahha Technology

Over the millenia 'Nahha' technological progress has been sure and steady, unlike ours which has been slow, sometimes backward and is now gaining speed at an exponential rate. Their rate of scientific achievement has proceeded at a steady pace.

It is difficult to say how far advanced they are now as some of their technologies seem to be far ahead of us while others seem to be much closer. For instance, whereas bio-engineering is far advanced (see under 'katim') as is their development of robotics [difayoj], they do not have the same level of investment in robots (autonomous machines) as we would expect. Most robots on E-Zero are non-humanoid but can be self-aware and very intelligent.

Although they have a commercial / capitalist society, the legal system puts great emphasis on copyright and patenting and the subsequent licensing of ideas. Thus a 'nahhum' or 'nahhumar' which created a useful invention some time in the past can find itself very wealthy from license income from all over the world. Most often this wealth is then turned either into a philanthropic venture, art or an advanced scientific endeavor. Freed (for the most part) from further financial ties a wealthy 'nahhumar' will often conduct research into a fashionable, rather than necessary, area. This difference of emphasis on research priorities is what probably accounts for dissimilar progress among the different sciences.
