Okumim

Okumim is the generic name given to a family of autonomous and semi-autonomous flying devices which perform surveillance activities. Farmers and wildlife management make extensive use of these devices to monitor animals and report on their welfare. Law Enforcement also make use of these devices to track criminal activity, and the media will use them to report on important events.

Okumim can also be attached to a katim and a person can effectively 'fly and observe' to distant places. It's common for people from wealthy Nahhumar to attach themselves to okumim and visit distant relatives, play hide and seek games, or go exploring. Some of the more expensive okumim can go underwater or even into space. There are many specialised 'virtual presence' holiday Nahhumar which hire these out for people to explore the seas or the Moon. Further distances are being planned but require more complex technology due to speed-of-light issues.
