Assignment: Draft a student resume using handout guidelines
OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion, students will have created a complete portfolio representing their skills, experience, and educational background for the purpose of gaining scholarships, internships, or employment. Creating a portfolio, will produce clear and coherent writing in which development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.
demonstrate knowledge of and familiarity with the nature of technical writing and the qualities of technical style through resumes, letters of application, thank you letters, and scholarship essays.
gather, analyze, and organize needed data and documentation for the compilation of a personal portfolio;
interact collaboratively with other students to complete various course assignments;
interact with business leaders in the community through mock interviews to gain knowledge and confidence when pursuing scholarships, internships or employment.
demonstrate an understanding of computer technology by using hardware and software to complete various course assignments.
demonstrate time management skills by meeting various deadlines, as well as scheduling a mock interview and arriving on time, professionally dressed and professional in demeanor.
