Gifts of Chinese Embroideries

In July 2023, three Chinese embroideries were donated to Metropolitan. They have been framed and are on

display in the Parlour for all to enjoy. These gifts relate to the individuals honoured for their work on the

Crawford Quilt (1925) hanging on the wall in the south-east stairwell, near the east side entrance to the

Church building. This Crawford Quilt is accompanied by a brochure with a surname index of 787 people and a

guide to the location of their names on the quilt. The brochures are available next to the quilt. The Archives

Committee thanked Gail Browne on Oct. 22, 2010 for the tremendous amount of time that she put into the

preparation of this brochure. For more on the Crawford Quilt, see page 146 in Metropolitan’s book On This

Corner … 1896 ~ 1996.
