Methodists

The United Methodist Church was officially created in 1968. Its history dates back to 1730 when John and Charles Wesley,  and two of their students at Oxford University in England gathered a small group of students who sought to spread the Methodist movement. There are an estimated of about 80 million Methodists worldwide.

Like all Christian Methodists, they believe in the Trinity (meaning the three). This is the idea that the three figures are united in one God: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. Methodists also believe the Bible provides the only guide to our beliefs and practices.  They also believe that a homosexual person is no less than a heterosexual person and that they are individuals of sacred worth. In other words, all individuals are of worth to God.
