Irreligious theism originated in the 18th century, at a time when reason came to be valued more than faith. Atheistic writings of Xenophanes of Colophon (c. 570-475 BCE) are contemporary with Second Temple-era Judaism and significantly predate Christianity and Islam. There are about 1.1 billion, people accounting for religiously unaffiliated which is about one in six or (16%) of the people worldwide.
Irreligious theism is the belief that there is a higher being but who does not follow an organized religion.
