Let There Be Light

Everyone is familiar with this verse in the Bible:

Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. Genesis 1:3

However have Christians ever wondered the light of what did God create? Every light needs a source. So what’s the source of this light that God made to start creation itself?

Here’s a Hadith from Bihar al Anwar:

And with his chain of transmission attributed to Jabir bin Yazid Al-Ja’fi, he said: Abu Jaafar Muhammad bin Ali Al-Baqir, peace be upon him, said: “O Jaber, God was and there is nothing besides Him, neither known nor unknown. The first thing that began with the creation of his creation was that he created Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, and he created us the Ahl al-Bayt with him [Muhammad] from his [allah’s] light and his greatness, so he placed us in green canopies in front of him where there is no sky, no earth, no place, no night, no day, no sun, no moon, separating our light from the light of our Lord as the sun’s rays from the sun We glorify God Almighty, sanctify Him, praise Him, and worship Him as the right of worship
