My Favorite Tech Tools

Below are some of my favorite educational technology tools! I use these tools nearly daily.  These tools make my curriculum more accessible to my students' needs and help enrich the curriculum with engaging activities.

Interactive Whiteboard:

This is a very simple tool, but this allows me to help my students draw on the Smartboard easily.  I can help them trace letters, numbers, and sort pictures into categories.

Canva:

I made my morning circle/afternoon meeting on Canva. I use it every day in my classroom.  It is amazing!  I also frequently create interactive/accessible worksheets or activities on Canva.

Boomcards:

Boomcards is an incredible sight that offers teachers the chance to make or buy activities that are accessible to students on the Smartboard.  All of my students can access the Smartboard, so I frequently use Boomcards to enrich my lesson plans. Below is an activity that I found to include in one of my lessons about comparisons (I did not create this resource).

Lumio:

Lumio is similar to Boomcards, but it is linked directly with the SMARTTechnologies suite of digital products.  It is free for teachers to create activities, so when I want to create something to utilize in my class, I turn to Lumio.  Below is an activity that I have created.

Wheel of Names:

wheelofnames.com is an excellent resource that helps my students pick activities.  I like them to spin the wheel to give them agency to chose an activity within the options that I have planned for that day.  Below is a picture of that wheel.

QR Codes:

I use QR codes all the time! I use them to collect parent input, manage my data collection system, send information home to parents, or even to access information around my classroom as well! Below is a QR code to a parent that leads to the district calendar for 2022-2023.

Google Forms:

I also use Google Forms very frequently.  I send them out to colleagues to gather information, to parents to collect input, and I also use them in my data collection system. Here is a form that I sent home to parents at the beginning of the year regarding preferences for communication.
