In School Field Trip

Due to complex medical needs and a lack of accommodating transportation, we could not have an out-of-school field trip.  However, I firmly believe that my students deserve the same immersive learning experiences as their able-bodied peers.  So, to accommodate our limitations and work around some of our students' challenges, I was able to organize an in-school field trip with a local wildlife rescue center. This visit took place during a unit about hibernation, fall, and the change of seasons. The wildlife rescue center agreed to bring some of their animals and teach my students about hibernation and the life cycles of different animals.  The demonstration fit perfectly with our learning cycle! It was amazing! The students even got to touch the animals (if their parents gave permission).  Below are a few pictures from that fun event.
