I’ve given all of these pieces my own names, based on how I perceive them. However, most are real, tropical pitcher plants, and I am including the Latin names to emphasize that these aren’t things I’ve made up. Many of them came from a website, californiacarnivores.com, and a book written by Peter D’Amato called The Savage Garden. This piece is based on Nepenthes bicalcarata, a species from Borneo. According to D’Amato, the pitchers are about 6” tall, and sometimes ooze nectar that drips down the fangs.
