STL starts their new deadline this week (March 9th)
TUC deadline moved to 2pm CST due to daylight savings time
CDP/WNV have swapped deadlines for better content flow.
360/Lively will be streamlined so sections are produced once and output to all of our publications. BHC and PAC sell ads specific to these sections so those will continue to be built and designed in RPM.
OWH press is shutting down. We are migrating publications printed there to Des Moines and Grand Island presses. Deadlines will be changing.
Butte Our Lady will no longer be part of the obituaries snippet/page for BUT STND.
Look out for our new Daily Digest in the Design Teams channel at 5pm CST every day. It will list the highlights and important info for the day.
Submit pages you're proud of or that inspire you to the page submission form attached to the Design Teams channel.
Starting the week of Nov. 3, the following sites will stop printing their Monday paper but will still produce a full size e-edition for their readers: Billings, Bismarck, Bloomington, Buffalo, Fredericksburg, Greensboro, Kenosha, Lincoln, Lynchburg, Madison, Moline, Munster, Muscatine, Omaha, Quad-City (Davenport), Racine, Richmond, Roanoke, St. Louis, Tulsa and Winston-Salem.
The Monday e-editions will continue to include obits, class, retail ads plus all the content regularly budgeted within that day's pub. The only site to have a printed paper on Mondays will be Tucson.
With this change proofing will be done differently for most of these publications. You will continue to proof all pages for Madison, Richmond, St. Louis and Buffalo. We will only proof covers and jump pages for the rest of them. All other inside pages will go straight to 2nd proof unless the site requests a 1st proof of the page in RPM.
Deadlines for the sites will remain the same unless they have requested to move it to a time that helps with their staffing. All new deadlines will be reflected in RPM. A site should honor these deadlines and please note if they are late in your night notes.
Always include site code/pub code/pub date/section letter/page number for ALL page inquiries and replate, page rejection requests and missing ad posts. Please type this information in your post rather than including screenshots in case CS needs to search our channel for subsequent investigations. Screenshots do not appear in search results.
Do not include questions or comments about unrelated pages, ads, partials, etc. in threads for other publications/pages. Each page, partial, ad or general question for every publication/page/date must be a a new post/thread.
Remember to post ALL BUF related questions in the Buffalo Production - LDC channel.
Do not send pages multiple times if they're not showing plate previews in RPM. This could result in sending multiple plates to the press. Post in the CS channel and ask if the page can be confirmed in NewsWayX.
If an editor asks for a page to be resent to NewsWayX, please consult with CS first. There may be a technical issue we need to address that does not necessitate resending the page; resending the page may unnecessarily bog down the systems.
Please do not eyeball or checkmark emote posts in the CS channel. These emotes are used by the CS team to indicate to CS team members that the post is being addressed by a member of their team. Ditto emotes are helpful and welcome to relay that multiple users are experiencing issues posted in our channel.
Replates: Please be concise in replate communication. Please do not ask CS to "pull back" or "redo" a page as this is not concise information for communicating a replate. CS does not "pull back" or "redo" pages. CS rejects pages in NewsWayX if not yet approved by QC, deletes pages or plates if able prior to reaching press, or notifies press of replates if plates have been output by press.
If a page has been sent to NewsWayX, ask CS if it can be rejected. If the page can be rejected, CS rejects the page in NWX and designer replates the page in RPM.
If a page has been sent to NewsWayX and approved by QC, CS deletes pages or plates if able prior to reaching press, or notifies press of replate if plates have been output by press. Designer replates the page in RPM.
On behalf of the Customer Service team, thank you for your cooperation.
NEW: This reflects changes that simplify the process of setting up a remote. While you all should have your own assigned remote now, there may be times when you have to borrow one that someone isn't using that day.

Sites in pink use the Lee style modules for their dailies, weeklies and TMCs. Papers that publish on T/T/Sa use the 4-section format (Local, Sports, 360, Lively).
Sites going to 5 day publication (Tuesday-Saturday) will adapt the Lee style and have e-editions on Sunday and Monday but they will keep their current layouts (they will not be using 360 or Lively sections).
Use these templates for A1 cover designs. Templates include space for unique flag at the top and index across the bottom.
Use these templates for your e-edition if you have two stories and no ads.
If you have an ad on your page or want a three story cover, please choose from the Cover Modules
Use these templates for Sports, 360, Lively and A1s on e-edition days.
Use these modules for inside pages that have a 3-day print publication.
We will continue to use the da Vinci inside modules for pages within the sections.
Use these templates for A1 cover designs. Templates include space for your unique flag at the top and index across the bottom.
If you have an ad on your page, make sure to select a module that includes an ad space.
Use these templates for billboard designs that go at the top of your A1.
Use these templates for all other covers designs - Local, Sports, Lifestyles, Business, etc. Templates include space for a cover flag at the top.
Key differences in Buffalo include:
Much wider page size. Shared content must fill the width.
There are no margins on the InDesign pages.
All modules are in the Blox Page Design snippet library.
Decks are italic and smaller.
Bylines are centered.
Page labels run under folio line and Page Heads for theme pages or inside sections are grey or black.
4 grid lines between stories vertically instead of three with an Oxford rule in the middle.
Billboards are included in A1 snippets.
Most changes are reflected in Quick Apply styles. Italic heads requested by editors must be done manually with Rocky Light Italic.
Key differences in Omaha include:
Wider gutters, 1-pica instead of the standard 8 pt.
Centerpieces include more space.
Bylines are centered.
Standard decks (HD DKA) are smaller but the alt deck (HD DKB) is larger and serif for bigger packages / centerpieces.
Modules are in Blox Page Design snippet library instead of module library.
Billboards are separate snippets, not Da Vinci.
Pre-designed shared content needs to fit to the width of the page if it shares space with local content. Otherwise it can float.
