Don't be afraid to start asking publications for missing budgets at the 2 hour from deadline mark. Encourage editors to even get partials in so you can get things started even if the page isn't fully content ready.
Done this before? That's okay, this covers you. It ensures that you made all possible effort to get things moving to make deadline, continue this practice and night note the result.

Have a ton of pages content ready for 2 of your later publications you're not getting to yet? Make a note in the help thread. It is not about whether you can complete your shift or not, but it's about clearing pages as soon as possible to make way for more available help later on. This improves plateflow so don't get territorial.
Overclaiming pages also contributes to the lack of plateflow and help available when it's actually needed, please don't do this.

Tons content ready and deadline fast approaching? Take a site assessment an hour from deadline and note what you can absolutely get done and what you can't then reach out for help. Be specific with pages and when they're due and make the post, DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE!

A few questions in recent night notes came up about which pages get sent to first/second/direct. Here's a breakdown:
Nation/World shared mod - first proof
Weather - first proof (unless it's an EE night for 3-day pubs)
PDF obit (full page, no editorial) - first proof
Shared opinion - second proof
Shared opinion with local substitutes - first proof
Shared content - second proof
Shared content with any editorial content - first proof
Shared market page - first proof
Partial/full class we place - second proof (add link to RPM notes)
Retail full - direct output single
Panorama - combine pages on a spread, direct output spread
Spadia - remove folio, send to second
There are obviously a few exceptions to the rules for special sites like BUF, so reach out to a team lead or senior with any questions.
