we are told to dream

Dream big, Dream bold.

But when we actually have a dream,

we are told that we need to dream realistically

Realistically? That's not what you said before? 

So I changed my dream.

From a Broadway actress to a lawyer

From a singer to a chemist

I mean, I guess I wanna be a doctor.

I mean, a forensic scientist doesn't sound bad

They sound super cool.

But not as cool as my true dreams

So why must we dream if the dream is shut down

Why must we dream if we are told to dream differently?
