They say to fight fire with fire,
But I'm all burnt out,
Left with buckets of blood, sweat and tears,
To try and quench the flames' thirst,
Forgetting about my own,
And I guess I can't be seen nor heard,
'Cause no-one's seeing the smoke,
Nor hearing my cries,
Burning alive in the embers and coals,
Trapped in the empty fireplace,
The centrepiece mantle,
Admired, observed, prized,
But always smouldering, sizzling,
Burning alive in the burnt out flames,
Sacrificing myself for their games,
What matters to them doesn't to me,
But still they've planned out what I'm going to be,
They say I'll go far,
I guess you have to burn to be a star.
