Synopsis
After escaping a childhood defined by her fatherβs violence and the tragic loss of her brother, high school junior Lila Babich finally found safety with her adoptive parents. However, the scars of her past remain hidden beneath layers of bracelets, recklessness, and self-destruction. Her balance is threatened when her friend Kaleb begins to see through her defensive "Grumpy" facade, breaking down the walls she built. As Lila navigates complex feelings for her best friend Laney and a tense rivalry with Kaleb, she must decide if she can truly let anyone in or if she is destined to be consumed by the "monsters" of her memory. Her trio faces forbidden love and a frenemies-to-lovers romance, yet only one person can have the person they desire, while the other will never be with the person they desire.Β
