KMAC hosted a weekend of Ringmaster flying on October 5th and 6th as part of the international Ringmaster Fly-a-Thon carnival. The weather was very kind on the Saturday and seven pilots put in a total of 27 flights whereas the Sunday was fine but quite blustery - only three hardy pilots braved those conditions to put in a total of 7 further flights.
The flying on Saturday was blessed with fine and warm conditions resulting in six pilots and planes (including a couple of our Gippsland colleagues) getting together during the middle of the day to rack up some good flights. The models were all original S1 variants other than a single Ringmaster Jnr flown by Frank Grassham. Having had a few errands to run, Reeve Marsh was late to the party, showing up well after everyone else had left but still managed to add a few more flights to the tally, flying his S1A.
Sunday was warm and fine but seriously windy, however three pilots showed up to add a few flights to the records. Chris Berry had completed his new Ringmaster S1 and despite the conditions this was successfully maidened.
Hopefully next year sees better conditions across the whole weekend to bring out even more pilots and Ringmaster examples.
