STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2016

There was a slight change to the format this year with Classic being moved from the Saturday to the Sunday. It was suggested that this may have been a reason for reduced interstate attendance this year. However the truth was more likely the cost of attending multiple events so close to the World Championships in Perth in May.

So here we are, let's give you some info:

F2B

The Winners are:

Well at the first Round it looked like Dougie with his relatively new Black Jack had the wood on Reg. Whether the nerves got to our "ice man" or Reg was just too practiced with his model, there is no disputing consecutive improvement in the round will put you in the winners frame every time. Congratulations Reg for showing us how it is done. Couldn't have been more deserving. We really appreciate you making the trip.

Classic

Again very few entrants this year. This event belonged to Peter Koch.

It was good to see Reeve active in the competition with a nice looking Chief. As the scores reflect, Dave was not having the best weekend. The competition was in earnest despite what the photos of the winners might indicate with their horsing around.

Vintage

Well the old stages were out again with Reeve adding some fresh interest. Mr Nobes has had his hands on this event in recent years and this year proved no exception. His Guided Whistle still holding him in good stead even in his senior years.

This was the only stunt event held on the Saturday and so was able to be run in pleasant conditions before the wind got up. Unfortunately for Dave Lacy his Jamieson Special couldn't get a decent engine run and had to be swapped out for his Demon.
