Homeschool STEM
Creating and Implementing a Homeschool STEM Program
Presented by Karen Earp, Somerset County Library
Do you want to create programs for homeschoolers? Are you already doing homeschool-specific programming and want to do more? Do you want to explore ways to reach out to homeschool families? Would you like to create programs that help homeschool families meet their learning goals? If you said yes to any of these, this session is for you. We'll explore the how, what, and when of homeschool programming, including how to create multi-age programs that a single librarian can run. And we'll finish with a hands-on exploration of STEM tools & toys that we use in our homeschool programs.
At the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to:
Identify resources to create homeschool STEM programming.
Name best practices for finding and communicating with homeschooled families in their communities.
Survey and select the types of STEM programs that homeschoolers (and their caregivers) are most interested in attending at the library.
