Many Middle School Students don’t have the skills necessary to perform a basic effective internet search! For 5 years, Carroll County Public Schools Middle Schools have partnered with Carroll County Public Library for the SCORE Challenge. SCORE is an acronym for Student Collaboration of Research Exploration and with five years’ worth of participating and observing the benefits of this great event, our presenters will share their experiences. Learn how students have:

  • Improved their Information Literacy Skills!
  • Learned Technique to Perform Effective Internet Searches!
  • Discovered how to Properly Evaluate a Resource!

All in a fun, effective, lasting method that SCOREs Big!

At the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to...

  • …explain two opportunities to develop programs, events, or partnerships based in their own systems.
  • …describe three skills SCORE Challenge students obtain through the program.
  • …describe at least two strategies to incorporate these information literacy skills into other programs, events, trainings, or lessons.
