Room 307A/B/C

Buff Kahn, Adult Services Supervisor, Carroll County Public Library, & Tresa Hanna, Program Developer, Maryland State Department of Education

New to SEFEL or just looking to brush up? We will start with an overview of the SEFEL pyramid framework while sharing ideas and practices to implement the framework in your library. See how this early learning discipline can benefit young library-goers and families. We will point you in the direction to good children’s literature on social/emotional foundations. Additionally we will tour the Maryland SEFEL website that is filled with online resources that support SEFEL efforts.

At the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to...

  • ...define SEFEL and describe the SEFEL pyramid framework.
  • ...name two SEFEL strategies they can use in their library work with children.
