Matthew 24:36
The Day and Hour Unknown
36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Matthew 27:45-46
The Death of Jesus
45From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land. 46About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"—which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
John 16:19-33
Jesus Knows All Things
19Jesus saw that they wanted to ask him about this, so he said to them, "Are you asking one another what I meant when I said, 'In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me'? 20I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. 21A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. 22So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. 23In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 24Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
25"Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. 26In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. 27No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. 28I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father."
29Then Jesus' disciples said, "Now you are speaking clearly and without figures of speech. 30Now we can see that you know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God."
31"You believe at last!" Jesus answered. 32"But a time is coming, and has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.
33"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
John 21:17
Jesus Knows All Things
17 "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you."
Luke 23:46
The Death of Jesus
46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.
We all seem to have unanswered questions in our lives,. while we are on this earth...This matter of unanswered questions seems not only for us, but for Jesus also...Questions that gnaw at us, and our minds and we can't quite seem to get answered...We see there were at least two questions the Jesus Himself thought about and did not have the answers to them...The questions like this, may gnaw at us, but Jesus is always teaching us to trust in His Father...
Why didn't God give Jesus, His Son the answer to all things and to all questions?...Maybe, He did but maybe He didn't...When Jesus utters out in pain while on the cross, Scripture from the Psalms 22:1, we might say it was from His pain, as a Man, and He may have been delirious...But we do not know that...Some theists, teach us that Jesus was quoting Scripture in an hour of pain, and our prayers should also include Scripture...But when the disciples ask Him about the End of the Ages, He tells them no one knows but God Himself...So there were things on earth that Jesus did not know...Jesus was Man and Divine...If He were truly a Man, it is possible, He did not know everything, while He was on earth...We might say, it confirmed that He was a Baby, Youth, and Man, while He was on earth...The same bones, muscles, and nerve endings that man has, He had...Yet He was unique because He was the Son of God and divine...
We are told by Philip -that now we can see you know all things, and that they do not even have to ask Him questions...But if He knew all things, then He would have known the day of the End of the Ages, and His Second Advent...But if we put this is context, Jesus is knowing they have many questions on their minds that they are wanting to ask Him -but He does not correct Philip, that He He knows all things (not now, but maybe later)...But there is some wiggle room there to say, maybe He did not He knows all things now, but a time is coming, when He will know all things (and that time is soon, and will be after His resurrection -but this is only speculation)...
Yet, after His resurrection, He did change...He was hard, for even His closest friends to identify Him...It is possible that He knew all things after His death...Peter seems to think so, when he is ask for the third time if he loves Jesus...
There are three things we can take away from Jesus not knowing everything on earth...First, He admits, He does not know everything when He says He does not know the time of the End of the Ages...Second, God knows the time -and God does now all things...Third, Jesus always trusted in God in what He knew and did not know...In His last breath on the cross, He tells His Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit...He truly trusts in the LORD, with His unanswered questions on earth...
Some of our questions will not be answered until we get to heaven with Jesus, in the room He has prepared for us...
