John 16:25-31
Jesus Disciples Now Knew That He Knows All Things
25 “Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. 26 In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. 27 No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. 28 I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”
29 Then Jesus’ disciples said, “Now you are speaking clearly and without figures of speech. 30 Now we can see that you know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God.”
31 “Do you now believe?” Jesus replied.
Matthew 16:26
The importance of Our Soul
26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
John 21:17
Peter Tells Jesus He Knows All Things
17 The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my sheep.
I have always asked a lot of questions...They often come in the form of Why, What, and How...And there is One who knows all things and has the answer to these questions...What better resource do we have and the Disciples have than Jesus in looking for life's questions and deep questions about anything...To be one on One with Him to answer the Why’s of life...Like Why are we here?...What is the purpose of life?...How did You resurrect from the dead?...How did you walk on water?...
Jesus' Disciples told Him that He knows all things right before His arrest...He started speaking clearer to them and without figures of speech...They better understood Him...And when they better understood Him, they said, "Now we can see that You know all things and that You do not even need to have anyone ask You questions...This makes us believe that You came from God."...Peter later after Jesus' death tells Jesus, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You."...
I believe that a light truly went off when Jesus resurrected and appeared to His Disciples, and those closest to Him...Many, and maybe all the Disciples life's questions were answered when He appeared to them after His death...His resurrection proved to His Disciples that man cannot explain the world as it is and as we see it, or as we believe it is...God can intervene in our lives at anytime of His choosing...And He maybe subtly intervening regularly to help us...In the end we know it is God's Will that does get done...Jesus living and teaching after His death proves to us that there is Something More Intelligent than mans’ thinking, man’s reasoning, and man’s logic...Those who believe these things see that we have a soul, surrounded by a body...It is the soul that makes us...For what good would it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?...Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?...
