Matthew 14:22-36
Jesus Walks on the Water
22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, 24 but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25 During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
34 When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret. 35 And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought all their sick to him 36 and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed.
Matthew 28:1-10
The Empty Tomb
1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
John 20:24-29
Jesus Appears to Thomas
24Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!"
But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."
26A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 27Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe." 28Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"
29Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
Even while He was on earth Jesus was worshiped by some of those who met Him and knew Him...Jesus claimed to be One with the Father and the Father was in Him...Jesus said whoever had seen Him had seen God, the Father...And the Disciples worshipped Jesus as God...There are verses that show us this...Thomas shortly after His death calls Jesus, God...And the way Jesus responds to Thomas, I believe it is a Divine Response and makes believe that Thomas' statement about His LORD and God true...
Here are some examples of people and the Disciples worshiping Jesus...
When the Disciples were in a boat one day and He was up praying on a mountain side...Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them and to meet them in the boat...He walking on the lake...When the disciples saw Him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear...But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage!...It is I...Don’t be afraid.”...“LORD, if it’s You,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”...“Come,” He said...Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus...But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “LORD, save me!”...Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught Peter...“You of little faith,” He said, “why did you doubt?”...And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down...Then those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”...
After His crucifixion and death the women who believed in Him wanted to look and view His tomb...But Jesus was not there...A violent earthquake, for an angel of the LORD came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it...His appearance was like lightning, and His clothes were white as snow...The guards were so afraid of Him that they shook and became like dead men...The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified...He is not here; He has risen, just as He said...Come and see the place where He lay...Then go quickly and tell His disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee...There you will see Him.’ Now I have told you.”...“So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell His disciples...Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” He said...They came to Him, clasped His feet and worshiped Him”...
After Jesus died on the cross, He appeared to the Disciple, but Thomas was not there...And Thomas told them so...When the other Disciples told Thomas them they had seen Jesus he did not believe Jesus had risen...Doubting Thomas said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in His hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”...A week later His disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them...Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”...Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see My hands...Reach out your hand and put it into My side...Stop doubting and believe.”...Thomas said to Him, “My LORD and my God!”...Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”...
