1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
Jesus Says Your Sins Are Forgiven
1 A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home.2 They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. 3 Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. 4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
Luke 7:44-48
Jesus Says Your Sins Are Forgiven
44 Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45 You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. 46 You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet.47 Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.” 48 Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
Mark 2:8
Jesus Knows What is in Our Hearts
8 Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, "Why are you thinking these things?

Jesus Predicts His Death a Third Time
17 Now Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them,18 “We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death 19 and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!”
Hebrews 4:15
Jesus Was Without Sin
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin.
Zechariah 13:1-9
Cleansed of Our Sins
1 “On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.
2 “On that day, I will banish the names of the idols from the land, and they will be remembered no more,” declares the LORD Almighty. “I will remove both the prophets and the spirit of impurity from the land. 3 And if anyone still prophesies, his father and mother, to whom he was born, will say to him, ‘You must die, because you have told lies in the LORD’s name.’ When he prophesies, his own parents will stab him.
4 “On that day every prophet will be ashamed of his prophetic vision. He will not put on a prophet’s garment of hair in order to deceive. 5 He will say, ‘I am not a prophet. I am a farmer; the land has been my livelihood since my youth.’ 6 If someone asks him, ‘What are these wounds on your body?’ he will answer, ‘The wounds I was given at the house of my friends.’
The Shepherd Struck, the Sheep Scattered
7 “Awake, O sword, against my shepherd,
against the man who is close to me!”
declares the LORD Almighty.
“Strike the shepherd,
and the sheep will be scattered,
and I will turn my hand against the little ones.
8 In the whole land,” declares the LORD,
“two-thirds will be struck down and perish;
yet one-third will be left in it.
9 This third I will bring into the fire;
I will refine them like silver
and test them like gold.
They will call on my name
and I will answer them;
I will say, ‘They are my people,’
and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’”
Matthew 8:1
Large Crowds Followed Jesus
1 When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him.
Mark 4:1
Large Crowds Followed Jesus
1 Again Jesus began to teach by the lake. The crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake, while all the people were along the shore at the water's edge.
Luke 23:1
Whole Assembly Go To Pilate and Accuse Jesus
1 Then the whole assembly rose and led him off to Pilate. 2 And they began to accuse him, saying, “We have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Christ, a king.”
John 19:1
Jesus is Flogged and Tortured
1 Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged.
Luke 23:26-34
Jesus Forgives Us for Crucifying Him
“‘they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!”
and to the hills, “Cover us!”’
31 For if people do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”
32 Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. 33 When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left.
34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
The Prophet Zechariah tells us that on "that day" a Fountain will be open to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and they would be cleansed of their sins...The Good Shepherd, a Great, Great Great Grandson of David would arrested and taken to Pilate...He was wounded by His Own people from His Own house...The large crowds that had followed Him the last three years were now, nowhere to be found...The support of His disciples and closet followers was gone...The Good Shepherd was struck and His own sheep quickly scattered...And forgiveness and forgiving was always in His heart and mind...I personally do not know what would be on my mind, if I were to be taken off and flogged and then to be crucified and killed -but forgiveness would not be in the first of my thoughts...But it was His...
Jesus knows what is in our minds and in our hearts...He knew when He walked the earth -He knew what was in the minds and hearts of all those around Him...And He knew what was going to happen to Him...He predicted His death and resurrection...Yet, all the while He was teaching us, helping us, healing us and forgiving us of our sins -and it is we who sin and we who caused His death -He is sinless...Yet, He humbly went to the cross to die for our sins...He is Divine and could have at anytime stopped what was going on around Him, and immediately changed the circumstances of anything and everything that is going on (I sometimes think we greatly overlook this)...
When we have trouble forgiving others of someone trespasses on us, we need to look at the cross and seek and think of Him...He could have much anger, blame, bitterness, a want to avenge, and resented each of us -but no He decided to let us crucify Him and would die for us (and our sins)...Jesus understands what it to be betrayed and trespassed on...He became a Man and dwelt among us and knows those feelings that we have...But He shows us how to humbly forgive...And He showed it show much with His Own death...
