Museum
There is a museum in the basement of the Chapel that offers exhibits of the early immigrant experience as well as audio and video presentations.
A desk in the museum features an iPad on which you may view a 5 minute narrated slideshow about the history and contents of the Chapel and museum. The English version is narrated by Kai Swanson, Executive Assistant to the President at Augustana College, Rock Island. The Swedish version is narrated by Angelica Lindqvist, a native of Sweden who is a 2013 graduate of Augustana College, Rock Island.
A cemetery is located near the Chapel and the tombstones bear these inscriptions.
Lisa Huntsha, part-time curator of the museum, works to preserve and display the collections, develop plans for the museum, and interpret the stories told by the museum. She may be contacted at lisahuntsha@augustana.edu.
The museum is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm from April through October and otherwise by special request. Confirmation classes and other church groups are welcome to visit the chapel and museum, by appointment.
