Events in 2022
The Chapel hosts special events throughout the year including the annual Founders Day service in April, Sunday evening vespers during the summer, the Swedish Högmässa service in September, and the "Joy of Christmas" service in early December. Founders Day Service
Sunday, April 24, 4:00 pm
Steven C. Bahls, the eighth president of Augustana College, will be the speaker at the Founders Day Service at Augustana Lutheran Church in Andover on Sunday, April 24, 4 pm. This service celebrates the 162nd anniversary of both the Augustana Lutheran Church in America and Augustana College and Theological Seminary, and the 172nd anniversary of the Augustana Lutheran congregation in Andover.

Birdies for Charity
The Jenny Lind Chapel is again participating in the John Deere Classic Golf Tournament Birdies for Charity pledge program. This is a great way to provide funds for the Chapel ministry.
The official pledge form may be downloaded and printed. It is actually preferred that you make a donation online. In filling out the card, the charity name is "Jenny Lind Chapel" and the Bird Number is 1955. All pledge cards must be received by June 10, 2022.

Special Musical Concert from Sweden
Friday, June 10, 7 pm
Soprano Tessan-Maria Lehmussaari, 2022 winner of the prestigious Jenny Lind Scholarship awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, will present a short concert at the Jenny Lind Chapel. She will be accompanied by pianist Silia Levander, who received her M.A. at the Royal Music Academy of Stockholm.

Annual Swedish Högmässa Service
Sunday, September 25, 4 pm
This beautiful service will be led by Mark Safstrom, Ph.D, Associate Professor of Scandinavian Studies at Augustana College. Special music will be given by Carol Curry, harpist. Click on this link to view the service.

Annual Joy of Christmas with Augustana College
Wednesday, December 7, 7:30 pm
Students and faculty from Augustana College join the community for this beautiful service of worship and music that starts at Augustana Lutheran Church in Andover. The Christmas story will be read in several different languages.
The service concludes with a procession to the Jenny Lind Chapel, which is illuminated by 100 candles, and where Holy Communion will be celebrated to the strains of familiar Christmas carols.
The service will be live-streamed. The link will be here or you can watch it anytime after the service has ended.
Refreshments will be served in Luther Hall immediately after the service.
