TRANSCRIPTS + CREDIT TRANSFER
Your records officer will use the final Course Approval Form you submit to determine how your courses will transfer to Illinois (grade, credit/no credit, course equivalencies). The Vienna university transcripts and Credit Recommendation Form will be sent to the Office of the Registrar. The Registrar will process the courses, credits, and grades. Please note that it could take up to three to six months for your final grades to appear on your official transcript.
The transcript and credit transfer can be a lengthy process. Please know that the registrar's office prioritizes graduating students. In general students can expect their credits to be transferred by the end of the following semester.
All courses taken abroad will be processed for credit and grades, unless credit/no credit status is granted:
Credit/No Credit
LAS students who wish to take a course for credit/no credit (C/NC), must submit the credit declaration form accessible via this link: https://illinois.edu/fb/sec/3464629. Please specify the courses for which you wish to receive credit only.
A grade of C- or better is required to earn credit.
For the fall semester abroad, the credit declaration form may be submitted before the first Friday in March of the following semester and for spring abroad, before the first Friday in October of the following semester.
LAS students must direct all questions regarding general education credit and C/NC requests to Dean Steltman: steltman@illinois.edu
Students in other colleges should consult with their College's academic affairs office staff.
GRADE + CREDIT EQUIVALENCIES
All students need to take at least 12 Illinois credit hours (24 ECTS) at our Viennese partner universities (excluding Illinois online courses, including PS 393).
Academic-year DePaul students need to take 54 ECTS in Vienna.
